Chief Engineer, Engine Programs

Jonathan Hurden heads the design, development and testing team for EcoMotors engine programs. He brings extensive experience in automotive engineering at OEM and Tier 1 companies in the UK, Germany and North America.

During his career he has demonstrated a strong capability for creating a target-setting culture to achieve results, an excellent grasp of company financials, and the ability to hire and develop a successful team to deliver high quality products and high levels of customer satisfaction.

Mr. Hurden holds a Bachelors degree (honors program) in electrical and electronic engineering from Coventry University in Coventry, England.

Career highlights:

  • Manager, powertrain applications at the Rover Group in Solihull, England, responsible for design and development of various systems for the Range Rover, Discovery and Defender vehicles.
  • Chief Engineer at BMW Group, responsible for powertrain integration into small, medium, and Land Rover vehicles, including the New Mini engine.
  • Managing Director at Mahle Powertrain, LLC (previously Cosworth Technology, Inc.) in Novi, Michigan, involved in the delivery of key engineering projects to various OEM customers.
